The short answer
- Social Tables (Cvent Event Diagramming) and Prismm (formerly AllSeated) are professional platforms for planners and venues: collaboration, 3D, check-in, many events.
- For one wedding, gala or party, a free seating chart generator usually does everything you need, without an account or event limits.
Social Tables (Cvent)
- Does well: upload a guest list with meal preferences and tags, drag and drop or auto-seat guests in a click, find empty seats, export for catering and vendors, and collaborate in real time with your team, clients and vendors.
- For venues and planners: photo-realistic 3D diagrams, professionally drawn floor plans on paid plans, templates and favourites, diagram versioning, check-in and meal management.
- Watch out: it’s built for professionals; the free plan has tight limits and paid plans are a 12-month commitment.

AllSeated, now Prismm
AllSeated announced its new name, Prismm, in January 2024. It started in 2014 as a seating chart tool for wedding planners and grew into a platform for designing, selling and planning event spaces with photo-realistic, to-scale 3D venue layouts. It’s aimed at venues and event businesses. If you’re searching for the old AllSeated seating chart, Prismm is where it went.
When a free tool is enough
- One event at a time: a wedding, gala, party or fundraiser.
- No account and no limits: as many guests and plans as you need, stored in your browser.
- Seating that follows rules: Smart arrange seats everyone, keeps groups together, keeps VIPs near the stage and spreads sponsors across tables.
- Outputs for the day: a to-scale floor plan, an A–Z list, per-table lists with meal counts, and a sign.
- What you don’t get: 3D views, team collaboration on one plan, check-in or professionally drawn venue plans.

Yes. The event seating chart generator on this site is free with no account and no event limits: lay out the room, paste your guest list, let it seat everyone and print the plan and lists.
When is Social Tables worth paying for?
When you run many events, work with clients and vendors on the same diagram, need venue floor plans drawn professionally, 3D views or check-in, or your venue already uses Cvent.
