About these terms

These terms apply to seatingchartgenerator.org and everything on it, in every language. By using the site you agree to them; if you don’t agree, please don’t use it. “We” and “us” mean the team that runs the site. The privacy policy and cookies and storage pages explain how data is handled and form part of these terms.

The service

Seating Chart Generator is an online tool for planning seating at weddings, events, classrooms, concerts, offices and other gatherings, together with templates and guides. It runs in your web browser and needs no account. We keep improving it, so features may be added, changed or, occasionally, removed. We aim to keep the site available at all times but can’t promise uninterrupted access, for example during maintenance or outages.

Price

Every feature and every export is free, with no trial, no watermark and no hidden charges. If we ever offer optional paid extras, they will be clearly marked as paid, and we will update these terms before they launch.

Your content

The names, plans, charts and files you create belong to you, and you can print, share and reuse them as you like, including for paid work such as event planning. You are responsible for the information you enter and for having the right to use it, for example your school’s or employer’s permission for student or staff lists.

Plans are stored in your own browser, not on our servers, so we can’t recover a plan that is deleted or lost when browser data is cleared. Download a plan file of anything you can’t afford to lose.

Share links and QR codes

A share link or QR code contains the plan’s names, and anyone who has it can see them. It can’t be withdrawn once shared. Decide carefully who receives it, and don’t share other people’s names in ways they wouldn’t expect.

Acceptable use

Please don’t:

  • attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its servers;
  • use automated tools to copy the site or request pages at a rate that burdens it (normal search engine and assistant crawling is welcome);
  • use the site to break the law, to infringe anyone’s rights, or to publish names or details of people without a lawful reason;
  • present the site, its templates or its guides as your own, or suggest that we endorse you.

Our content and your licence

The site’s design, text, guides, illustrations, code and templates are protected by copyright and belong to us. We give you a free, non-exclusive licence to use the templates and anything you make with the tool for your own events, classes and organisations, including commercial events. You may print them and change them as much as you like.

You may not sell, resell or redistribute our templates or guides as they are, for example as a template pack or on a template marketplace, or copy the guides onto another site. Quoting a short passage with a link back to the page is welcome.

Other companies’ names

Product and company names mentioned on the site, such as those in our comparisons, are trademarks of their owners. We aren’t affiliated with them. Comparisons describe each product from its public information on the date shown on the page; prices and features change, so check the provider’s site.

Check before you print

We work hard to make the generator accurate and reliable, and test every release extensively. Even so, the site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Automatic arranging follows the rules you set but is a suggestion: always check a seating chart before you print it, hand it to a venue or show it to guests.

Limits of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost, incorrect or disclosed plans, arising from your use of the site. Because the site is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top shows the current version, and we describe important changes on this page before they take effect. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply.

Questions and disputes

If something goes wrong, please tell us first at our contact page: most problems can be solved quickly and informally. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
