Mega Seating Plan, Now Called Seating Plan
What the renamed classroom platform does well, what it costs, and when a free seating chart generator with no account is all a teacher needs.

Mega Seating Plan is now Seating Plan
If you’re looking for Mega Seating Plan, it hasn’t gone away: it’s now called Seating Plan, and megaseatingplan.com redirects to seatingplan.com. It’s a classroom seating platform for teachers and schools.
Where Seating Plan is better
- School systems. Class lists sync from the school’s systems (it names Wonde, Skolon, Clever and ClassLink) or import from Google Classroom and Microsoft Teams.
- Student data on the chart. SEND status, target grades and assessments, colour coding, notes, nicknames and student photos.
- Smart seating with preferences. Students can say where and with whom they’d like to sit, and its algorithm weighs those against your requirements and behaviour data.
- More than seating. Behaviour, attendance and homework tracking on the chart, name-learning apps, and AI-written student reports.
- Whole-school setup and, by its reviews, responsive support.
When a free generator is enough
- You want a chart today. No account and no setup: paste the class list, pick rows, pairs, groups or a U-shape, and arrange.
- Unlimited charts, free. Make as many classes and versions as you like, and print them all.
- Rules that matter in class. Keep two students apart, seat students who need it at the front, and reshuffle while avoiding last time’s neighbours.
- Privacy by default. Plans are stored in your browser; student names aren’t uploaded to our servers.

What it costs
On October 18, 2026, Seating Plan’s site listed a free Bronze plan (one seating plan, a homework tracker and teacher tools) and a Silver plan for an individual teacher at $29.99 a year in the US after a 14-day free trial, with whole-school plans and prices for other countries. The seating chart generator on this site is free.
Which to choose
- Choose Seating Plan if your school wants rosters synced, student data on charts, and behaviour and attendance in one place.
- Choose a free generator if you want a good chart for a few classes, quickly, without an account or sharing student data.
Either way, our classroom seating arrangement ideas and what the research says help decide the layout, and the random seating chart generator is quickest for a fresh shuffle.
Frequently asked questions
What happened to Mega Seating Plan?
It’s now called Seating Plan. The old megaseatingplan.com address redirects to seatingplan.com, where the same classroom seating platform continues.
Is Seating Plan (Mega Seating Plan) free?
There’s a free plan with one seating plan. Unlimited plans, roster imports, behaviour and attendance tracking and print-outs without Seating Plan branding are in the paid teacher plan, and schools can buy a whole-school plan.
Do I need an account?
For Seating Plan, yes: making a seating chart starts with registering, though there’s a live demo. The seating chart generator on this site needs no account.
Can a free generator import my class list?
Yes, by pasting it from a spreadsheet or your school system. It doesn’t sync automatically with Clever, ClassLink, Google Classroom or Teams; Seating Plan does.
Is student data safe in a free seating chart generator?
On this site, plans are stored in your own browser and student names aren’t uploaded to our servers. Check any tool’s privacy policy before entering student information.
Which is better for a whole school?
Seating Plan. It’s built for schools: rosters synced from the school’s systems, student data on the chart, behaviour and attendance records, and school-wide settings. A free generator suits a teacher who wants a chart quickly.
